Project Overview

A custom illustration project created for a client inspired by their love of Pokémon and their two dogs. The brief involved transforming each pet into original Pokémon style characters and presenting them as collectible trading cards.

Ideation

Research explored Pokémon character design, colour palettes, environments and visual themes. An affinity diagram was used to organise ideas and identify characteristics incorporated into each dogs design system.

Concept Development

The visual direction for each character was refined by matching colour palettes, weather conditions and environmental themes to the personalities and traits of the individual dogs. These decisions informed both the character illustrations and card designs.

Execution

The final illustrations were created using a Wacom tablet and incorporated into custom trading cards based on the classic Pokémon card format. The completed cards were professionally printed and packaged within a Pokémon style card pack to create a collectible final product. Created using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and a Wacom Tablet.
